Committed to a Life of Service

I grew up with dirt on my boots and a ball glove in my hand. Sports and hunting filled my early years, and life revolved around ball fields and the woods. As the grandson of two preachers, I heard the gospel early and often, but it wasn’t until after my freshman year of college that the Lord truly got hold of my heart and I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. That moment changed everything.

Just three weeks after I was saved, God introduced me to my beautiful wife, Michele. She has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life. The Lord filled a void in my heart spiritually and personally and He has continued to do so through my family. I am a blessed husband and a proud father to five wonderful children: Audrey, Eli, Gracie, Titus, and Isaac. My calling to ministry has always been rooted in my love for God and my love for my family.

About a year after my salvation, God called me to preach. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving as pastor of three Baptist churches, and I currently serve as Senior Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Spencer, West Virginia. Alongside pastoring, I am the founder and administrator of Faith Christian Academy, where my heart is to see young people grounded academically and biblically in a Christ-centered environment.

From the very beginning of my call to preach, God placed a deep burden for evangelism in my heart. I am committed to preaching the gospel clearly and boldly, and to delivering messages that stir the hearts of God’s people. I’ve heard countless stories of revival in past generations and while those stories inspire me, my prayer is simple: Lord, do it again, and do it in our generation.

In addition to pastoring and preaching, God has given me a passion for writing. Through Justin Simmons Ministries Publications, I seek to encourage believers, equip churches, and point people to Christ through practical, biblical resources. Whether preaching, teaching, writing, or serving, my desire is the same, to be faithful to the call God has placed on my life and to glorify Him in everything I do.
